Questions for Discussion:

Session 1

1. We shared a wonderful speech from TED, where good ideas from, during the gathering a couple of weeks ago. We found TED can not only enrich our life but also improve our English in various aspects. Have you tried to log in and listen to another talk these past weeks?

2. In the speech, the speaker does an excellent visual work of transforming "the line of success" into a "circle of success", which conveys the idea that “Success is not a one-way street but a continuous journey”. Do you agree with the speaker? Please express your ideas.

3. According to Richard, what are the eight principles by which people should keep following to avoid "success to failure syndrome."? Aside from the principles from the speaker, do you have your own to attain success and then sustain it?

Session 2

4. Have you ever reached success once and failed again? What actually caused the failure? How did you cope with the difficulty then? Did you get over it now?

5. Suppose life or learning is a journey, what should you do whenever the so-called “black clouds” show up along the way? Likewise, what can you do to make the trip a more endurable and enjoyable one?

6. Now that we know success is a continuous journey, does it inspire you in learning English? Do you consider coming to Happy English Club as an on-going journey which might need some commitment? To be clear, what can be done to help you achieve your goal of learning English and keep moving ahead?
