Session 1
(1) Which of the idioms discussed in these two articles have you not heard before? Which ones do you think will be the most useful to you?
(2) Try to use some of the "nose" and "ear" idioms of Article 1 in a sentence. Share your sentences with your group members and ask them if you used them correctly.
(3) What are the two meanings of "play it by ear"? Can you think of an equivalent chinese expression?
Session 2
(4) Did you listen to the accompanying mp3s to the articles? Were they useful?
(5) Try to use some of the "hit" idioms of Article 2 in a sentence. Share your sentences with your group members and ask them if you used them correctly.
(6) What does "hit the hay" or "hit the ceiling" mean? Do you hit the hay during your lunch break? Does your boss hit the ceiling when you don't do your job?
