Questions for Discussion:
Session 1
1. Have you heard of the terms "Food Miles" and "Carbon Footprints" before? What's your opinion on their usefulness? Do you think climate change is a serious problem or is the phenomenon exaggerated by scientists who seek funding?
2. What's the difference between "primary footprint" and "secondary footprint"? Please share an example with your group mates.
3. Do you think the carbon footprint food labels would be useful in reducing the impact of carbon emissions? Do you think they can be easily implemented in Taiwan?
Session 2
4. What have you done to reduce carbon emission? Are you a big supporter of environmental protection measures? Do you think separating your trash actually helps the environment?
5. After reading the articles, would you change your eating habits in order to decrease your carbon emission? Would you buy food labeled with lower carbon emission?
6. If a product or law is labeled with environmentalism in mind (such as hybrid vehicles, green tax and green building, etc.), but they may be more expensive or may affect the bottom line of your business, would you still consider them?
