Topic Discussion Article: 10 things all single people must do (文章)

Questions for Discussion:

Session 1

1. Have you ever traveled alone? If so, what was the place or country? Did you meet any interesting people in your journey? What were things which impressed you the most? If you haven't, would you like to start planning such a trip? Why or why not?

2. Have you discussed your relationship problems with your parents or other married couples? Do you think that these people would give you valuable advice? Alternatively, do you think you'd rather talk to your single friends even if they haven't dated before?

3. In the article, the author encourages single people to take some chances to have a real adventure. What kinds of adventure did you have so far in your life? Have any of these adventures risked your life? Would you do it again? If you have never had such experiences, what activities (e.g., surfing monster waves, climbing Mt. Everest, or starting a business) do you think you would most like to try? Why?

Session 2

4. Do you live alone, or do you live with your family (or, if you are married, talk about who you lived with when you were single)? If you live alone, do you manage to do everything (e.g., cooking, doing the dishes, the laundry, or sewing on replacement buttons) in your life by yourself? How many things do you need someone else's help? Do you think you could take good care of yourself?

5. It said in the article: once people are in a relationship, people start thinking about the partners before purchasing pricey items because there might be a plan of how to use the money. Do you think it's true for you, or do you think that you would still try to buy the items you want and then manage to convince your partner? What if it caused a big fight? How would you deal with it?

6. Not having a relationship usually provides people the freedom to do the things they love: drinking all night long with friends, driving a car all the way to Kenting during the night for a fancy party the next day. Do you think doing some crazy stuff would help people to behave better in the coming relationship? What are the top three things you would like to suggest for singles to do before they settle down?
