Questions:
1: A nuclear plant in Switzerland made a poll in a remote village and surveyed about putting radioactive wastes near their hometown. 51% of the people agreed to that measure. After that, the authority proposed a subsidy to increase consensus rate: 6000 euros per year to each resident. But only 25% of the people in town on the second poll agreed to new subsidy action. Before and after subsidy, what’s your opinion if you were the village resident? How much money can buy the sense of common sacrifice?
2: Sometime teachers of a kindergarden in Israel need to work overtime to take care of students whose parents arrive late to pick them up. So school administration imposes a fine system to those coming late parents. Late pick-up rate is higher than before when new measure begins. What’s the problem with that? Would you take it for granted to pick up later if you were those parents and choose to pay the fine? Why or why not? How much money can buy the sense of guilty?
3: Do you agree to those students who donate a large amount of money to school have the privilege to join your university if you are running an excellent but short-on-money school? How much money can buy unfair advantage?
4: Some parents motivate their children to make reading a habit by giving 100 NT dollars reward for each book. Should we pay children to get a good grade? What are the pros and cons of money-incentive measure? How much money can buy good habits?
5: Except for what we discussed above, what else we shouldn’t buy in the world? Why or why not?
