Questions:
1. Could you talk frankly about the taboo topic of “death” with your parents or children?
2. Have you signed a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) order? How to apply it? Signing a DNR is jinxing himself? Do you want to be sustained by a machine?
3. So-called euthanasia, also described as physician-assisted suicide, using drugs to end a patient’s life and is currently illegal in Taiwan. Is there anything you would like to share with us about it?
4. A family’s love can also be a hindrance to a patient dying a natural death in peace. Should family members take precedence in such cases? Is it better to have an empty shell being kept alive, remaining in the world to suffer?
5. No budget means no Policy. Taiwanese have grown accustomed to plentiful and cheap health care. Are you willing to engage in the Advance Care Planning (ACP) ? Will you agree to pay a NT$2,000 consultation fee for ACP out of your own pockets?
