Topic Discussion Article: Parents should show 'tough love' to graduates <--- Click Me (文章)
Questions for Discussion:
Session 1
1. Do you live with your parents now? Why or why not? If you live with them now, do you plan to move out? When? Are you being pressured to stay or move out?
2. Do you agree with the article that if parents make life too comfortable at home, their children will grow too attached to home and lose their motivation for independence? Comparing the East and West, in which part of the world do you think is more socially acceptable to live at home?
3. Have you ever lived by yourself? Do you prefer to live in your own place or live with your parents? Do your parents 'nag' constantly when you stay at home?
Session 2
4. If you have children or plan to have them, would you allow them to live with you after they have graduated? In your opinion, under what age is acceptable for a child to still live at home?
5. How will you react if your children don't want to move out? What are some 'tough love' your parents gave you in order to encourage you to do something?
6. How will your parents react if you are jobless and live at home? Would facing your parents each day add to your stress level or help your job search?
