Questions for Discussion:
Session 1
1. Do you think access to the Internet is a fundamental human right? Why or why not? Do you think Internet access fee is too high or too low in Taiwan?
2. Have you been to any country (or any place in Taiwan) in which the Internet is censored? What do you think about the censorship? In what aspect did it affect your life?
3. If you have kids or plan to have kids, will you control their use of the Internet? If yes, how do you compare this control with the Internet censorship by a government? Do you think a government should have the power to censor the Internet or even shut it down?
Session 2
4. Are you aware of any covenant or treaty about human rights? If yes, what are they? What do you think are basic rights a person should enjoy? Is freedom of speech important in a modern society? Has the Internet, with its vast amount of information available, made you more active or passive about the issues you cared about before?
5. Is the Internet essential in your daily life? What is the Internet to you? Have you ever tried to live without the Internet?
6. Have you benefited or suffered from using the Internet? Do you think you are addicted to the Internet?
