Topic Discussion Article: A virtual farm turns new ground for game developers (文章)

Questions for Discussion:

Session 1

1. Do you play games on Facebook or other sites online? If so, which ones? Do you take fortune-telling surveys on Facebook and then share the results with your friends?

2. Why do you think so many people like to farm, fish, run a gang, or manage a restaurant virtually? What is the appeal in social casual gaming, in your opinion?

3. Do you have ideas for a game on Facebook or on a smartphone? How would this game generate revenue for your imaginary game company?

Session 2

4. What is your favorite board game, such as chess, mahjong, monopoly, etc.? Do you play these online or only on certain occasions in person?

5. What are some of the harmful aspects of too much gaming? Why do you think game addicts play sometimes repetitive games all day? Do you play mahjong for hours at a time?

6. Why do you think gaming is such an important part of human interaction? How does gaming help us cope with the stress of life or boredom?
