Topic: Changing your life
Source:
Most people in life have a dream. This dream can be one that they have carried through their whole lives, or it could be something that they started thinking about in the very recent past.

Whether your dream is one that dates back to childhood, or whether it is one that entered in your mind only a week ago, it doesn't matter. The question is, what are you going to do about it, and how are you going to take that first step to get closer to your goal.

Most people keep their dreams in their heads instead of taking action. It is, after all, much easier to do nothing than to take a risk and create and opportunity for failure. This is where so many people make a mistake. Like the adage says: Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If you never try something, how will you know for sure that you cannot make a success out of it?

For this reason it is best to try to change your daydreams into reality. Just look around you. There are numerous examples of people who became tremendously successful with a simple idea. It only takes a bit of courage, commitment, and determination.

Earning more money is probably one of the most common dreams that people have. Living in a world of harsh realities when it comes to competition in the workplace and the difficulties of finding a decent job, chances are that you have been disappointed at least once in your job hunting experiences. However, this should not deter you from pursuing your dream. Maybe it's time to put on your creative hat and think about what hobbies you have and how you could possibly turn those hobbies into something lucrative.

What if your dream is related to the arts? Perhaps you have always dreamed about playing a musical instrument like the piano, guitar, or saxophone. It's not always easy in the beginning to find the time (and maybe the money) to start pursuing your dream of being able to make music, but it's definitely not an impossible task.

Where are thousands of things that people keep on putting off and what many people lose sight of is that most of us excel at things we enjoy and find interesting. Time spent on things we enjoy is never time wasted. You might even stumble upon a talent that you were never ever aware of!

Having no time has become such a cliché in modern society. It has produced a generation of people that constantly overworked, with no energy left for anything else. We have become mentally tired in regards to being creative or making our lives more enjoyable.

Start finding out about short courses you could do in flower arranging, painting, car maintenance, cooking, interior decorating, or whatever else you are interested in. many institutions offer introduction courses in creative fields and usually at quite affordable prices.

Stop putting things off and take that first step into a happier and more fulfilling life where you can spend time on the things that you really want to do.

Who knows, it might just be that newly discovered talent that leads you into the world of success and fame!

Promise yourself today that you are going to take that first step into your future. MAKE time for those things that you really want. You will be amazed at how much time you do have when you start making time for those things that you really want to do.

Questions:
1. Are there things in your life that you have always wanted to do, but have never had the time for? If you answered "yes" to the question, what are those things?
2. Did you really not have the time, or did you just put it off to do later?
3. Have you ever tried something new and it turned out to be a disaster? If so, are you glad that you tried to do it, or do you with you hadn't? Why?
4. Can you play an instrument? Which one? How long have you been playing?
5. If you could learn to play any instrument, which one would you choose?
6. Everyone has a talent. What's yours?
7. When you were growing up, did your parents encourage you to follow your dreams? Or did they want you to follow a safer, more traditional path? If you had children, would you tell them to "play by the rules" or do something different?
8. What hobbies do you have now? Could you use any of them as a basis for your own business? Share your ideas.
