Dear Taichung Happiers:

Whether to cancel 2/16 gathering or not was originally a big dilemma to us, owning to the Lunar New Year Holiday. Yet it turns out that it would be everyone’s loss if we skipped it, because Kevin does not only volunteer to host it, but also carefully select a praiseworthy topic and a few thoughtful questions. Thanks a lot, Kevin.

‘Les Misérables’ is a renowned story which pulls at people’s heartstrings. And the implication of it is about justice, society and hope. We should take the responsibilities toward others, because in every context, we are interdependent on others, to a greater or lesser degree; society is the sum of its individual parts, and if each individual sees and accepts his/her impact on others, our society will become more caring and considerate; on every occasion, exercising the hope for the future is challenging but inevitable.

The story provides the proof of the magical power of kindness which changes others’ lives. Also, it encourages us to ignite the candlesticks of hope without fears. Here is an audio book source for Happiers to enjoy the story and improve listening proficiency:
