Questions:
1. According to a news report, nearly 100 over-excited people in Taipei City were sent to hospitals during Taiwan verse Korea and Taiwan verse Japan baseball matches. Have you watched baseball live for these two games? If you have seen the match, what makes you rekindle the flame with baseball game? If you haven’t seen the match, what makes you skip these two games?
2. There are twelve baseball pro teams in Japan and eight in Korea respectively. Their baseball environment is much better than ours. It is not easy for Taiwan’s baseball teams to compete with those two countries. Due to match fixing scandals, the professional baseball teams in Taiwan have lost more than half their audience during the past few years. What is the matter of baseball environment in Taiwan? Can we return to the glory days of baseball?
3. Some Taiwanese people use disrespectful terms to other countries during the games. Do you think that action could draw us closer or that is an inappropriate move? Why or why not?
4. What kind of sports fan are you? If you are a sports fan, which professional teams or stars do you support? How many regular season games do you watch in a year? Have you ever gone to a ball game? If your answer is yes, what is the difference between watching live sports and going to a ball game?
5. Does winning or losing a game really matter? Except to win or lose a game, what else can you learn from a sport event?
