1. What does Globalization mean to you? Do you take any advantages from Globalization? What are the advantages?

2. Do you believe everyone can benefit from Globalization? Why? Have you ever thought there may be some disadvantages of Globalization? If yes, what are the disadvantages?

3. The Taiwan-New Zealand Economic Cooperation Agreement will be signed recently. If it is inevitable and you are an employee in the field of agriculture, what will you do? Do you think our Government should compensate these who are impacted by the Agreement? Why?

4. How much do you know about "Service Trade Agreement (STA)" which has been put on the table recently? Do you think our Government should inform people before or after signing the contract? Why?

5. The government announces they will try to sign more FTAs with other countries (or regions). Do you believe that is the answer to the economic crisis? Do you have any idea for boosting the economy without signing more FTAs?

Dear Taichung Happiers:

Since the international trade was initiated, Globalization has been introduced and evolved for several hundred years. Bill Gates indicates, “This is a very exciting time in the world of information. It’s not just that personal computer has come along as a great tool. The whole pace of business is moving faster. Globalization is forcing companies to do things in new ways.” Additionally, Jack Welch points us in the same direction: “Globalization has changed us into a company that searches the world, not just to sell or to source, but to find intellectual capital - the world's best talents and greatest ideas.”

How about the in-depth cross-cultural understanding? What is the humanity implication of Globalization? Through the integration and interaction among people and enterprises in different corners of the world, can Globalization achieve the ideal of diminishing inequality and enhancing integrity? For this weekend, the thoughtful host Bill Chung invites Happiers to investigate our mixed feelings about Globalization.

Let’s puzzle out all the possibilities together. Globalization grows diversity, and can be either a solution or a problem in different contexts; undoubtedly, we have a lot to learn.
