Thanks a lot for your attention.

Questions:
1. Tickets for Hualian-bound Trains always sold out within a short time during Chinese New Year holiday. Is returning to hometown for the holiday more important than tourism growth?

2. Do you concur or oppose Suhua Freeway(蘇花高) Project? In your point of view, what is the best solution to prevent traffic congestion?

3. Are you a green-transport supporter? How many times do you take public transportation per month?

4. When you were a student, did you ever meet him/her (your beloved one) by chance while waiting for or taking the bus to school?

5. Did you ever take the electric bus in Taichung? How did you feel? Do you agree it will be environment-friendly?

6. Did you have special experiences of taking public transportation? Could you share with us (either a dreadful experience or a fragrant memory)?

Dear Taichung Happiers,

If you love the adventure novel Treasure Island, you can enjoy the novelist’s picturesque poem writing as well.

From a Railway Carriage
By Robert Louis Stevenson

Faster than fairies, faster than witches,
Bridges and houses, hedges and ditches;
And charging along like troops in a battle,
All through the meadows the horses and cattle:
All of the sights of the hill and the plain
Fly as thick as driving rain;
And ever again, in the wink of an eye,
Painted stations whistle by.
Here is a child who clambers and scrambles,
All by himself and gathering brambles;
Here is a tramp who stands and gazes;
And there is the green for stringing the daisies!
Here is a cart run away in the road
Lumping along with man and load;
And here is a mill and there is a river:
Each a glimpse and gone forever!

We are going to test your “speed” this weekend. Do you want to be fast? Is green a fast color? Is Taichung BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) system just your speed? Before hopping towards the BRT stations, come have a conversation with our host Ben, who is presenting Transport in a Green Economy to us.

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) defined the concept of Green Economy as “an economic system that results in improved social equity and human well-being by considerably reducing ecological scarcities and environmental risks.” Do you believe in Green Economy? Why? Leif Johansson, President and CEO of the Volvo Group from 1997 to 2011, has warned us what to expect: "We are seeing the birth of a new perspective of the world, where ecology and economics are two sides of the same coin." Truly? How can ecology and economics be two sides of the same coin? The book You Are Stardust gives a big answer.

What are the challenges and opportunities of Green Economy? Green author Mutebi Jackson empathized “What counts is not the amount of money or property you possess but the number of green ideas /projects you have pursed to achieve your green total bottom line.” Furthermore, what can be the problem, and, also be the solution? Social economist Dhanesvara Das proposed it is our consciousness. He urged people forward—to lift our consciousness up to take the responsibility and make a difference. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbTaT_as8iI

Green marketplace is speeding at a breakneck pace --what ambivalence does the phenomenon exhibit? In a green economy, what can transport us to a different world? Is it music? Is it poetry? Is it spirituality? Or, is it the culture narratives? Remember that economy is for everyone. Remember our relationship with nature. Remember we are stardust.
