Dear Taichung Happiers,

My exercise club can get extremely busy. If all the exercise machines are in use, I usually wait in the snack bar and have a chocolate sundae until it’s my turn. 8)

Before the idea of skipping workouts sneaking into your mind, the sticker you truly need is from classical Greek philosopher Socrates (469 – 399 BC). “It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.” So, wake up and dream on! Never mind the expectations--what will you share with our host Yang, who firmly advocates exercise for a higher level of importance? Welcome to join our rejoicing moment!

How deep is your love for your favorite exercise? If you are a die-hard fan of both The Little Mermaid and cycling, you will be eager to experience this more-than-fairy-tale, high-flying bike stream in Copenhagen.
http://www.curbed.com/2015/11/18/9898730/copenhagen-gate-bike-lane-stephen-holl Author Carol Welch simply put “Movement is a medicine for creating change in a person's physical, emotional, and mental states.” Yet, who can listen to your body more attentively than yourself? Take the first step of self-coaching: make your ideal exercise program resurface. http://exercise.about.com/qz/Whats-Your-Fitness-Personality And then, appreciate what we’ve attained—above all, the invisible sway. http://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/exercising-to-relax No worries. You don’t find your coach; your coach finds you. Ladies and gentlemen, when the undercover trainers met the secret trainee....... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXS4iIQrmGs

Everyone has a fairy tale life—exercise is more than your Pumpkin Coach—exercise is encouraging your wings. What attributes of athletes do you acknowledge most? Why? David Lavallee, CEO and co-founder of GameFace Media, sees the enterprise success through athletes’ traits of work ethic, ability to overcome failure, positive energy, and handling risks and responsibility. https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/241857 Isn’t it an elegant echo of what the New York Times columnist Gretchen Reynolds has lovingly described that “There is no medicine or other intervention that appears to be nearly as effective as exercise in maintaining or even bumping up a person's cognitive abilities”? Beyond the athletic skills, exercise also elaborates our social and emotional intelligence along the fitness journey—cooking the colors of self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement—just like Miss Lina's Ballerinas. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJVsZtHF8Ao All right, now, relax, please, and enjoy this film The Walk. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKSeSX-dzso

We are small, yet we are grateful to find our love for exercise shining the way to the wholeness--the complete circle of mind, body, and spirit. The documentary film Fire in Babylon illustrates such a beautiful lesson: whatever obstacles we have to jump over, persistence can always lead the path to happiness; exercise fosters the talents through the education of character and virtues. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbJsy9MgFVw The admonition from martial artist Bruce Lee is still ringing in our ears. “I fear not the man who has practiced 10000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10000 times.” So, tell me, please, what is more rewarding than the 10000 kicks?

On persistence (by Calvin Coolidge)

Nothing in the world can take place of persistence.

Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.

Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.

Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.

How do you expect your favorite exercise (and yourself) to evolve? Danish entrepreneur and creative director Toni Sorenson acquired such a poetic equation: “A sweet life is a sweaty life.” What would you like Happiers to receive from what your sweet and sweaty life is delivering?
