Questions:

1. In the first article, the Top 1 Tip is to tell stories you like. It’s because stories which touch the tellers can also touch their audience. Nevertheless, there are many types of stories, what do you like most? A romantic love story, a sketch of realistic daily lives, a mystery with suspense and climax, or something else? Why do you appreciate this kind of story? Can you give us some examples?

2. People like to listen to stories. Some want to be inspired; others simply listen for joy. Do you like “The Shoes”? What does the teller try to convey through the story? Have you ever been impressively inspired by any story (stories)? What and how?

3. Storytelling is “the most powerful way to put ideas into the world today.” (a quote from Robert McKee) However, it’s never easy to express a story. In a storytelling experience, making good description plays an important role. We’ll start with a riddle telling. Please pick an object as the answer to your riddle, and describe it as lively as possible to your audience.

4. “To be a person is to have a story to tell.” (a quote from Isak Dinesen) Now, time for you to share us a story you like. Make some preparation in advance, try to apply the above tips, and finish your storytelling within 10 minutes. Then ask your audience to give you some feedback.

A story can be a description of events and people that the writer or speaker has invented in order to entertain people. As the ancient proverb goes, “Tell me the facts and I’ll learn. But tell me a story and it will live in heart forever.” According to research results, the combination of data and storytelling in class is 22 times easier for students to remember the content than just showing and analyzing the data. In addition, Award-winning writer Patrick Rothfuss believes stories distinguish people more precisely than ID card or Facial Recognition. “It's like everyone tells a story about themselves inside their own head. Always. All the time. That story makes you what you are. We build ourselves out of that story.” Truly, our dazzling passion for stories is ungovernable--a stunning storytelling is like a splendid summer evening calming our nettled nerves--because of the mixture of investigation and expectation, we are bewitched by the magic of stories, time and time again. Tell me, please, what smell of story books, what voice of storytelling, can transport you to your Childhood Wonderland? The childhood memory of diving deeply into the indulgence of stories always has a special place in my heart. A story can be an event in a book, film, play, etc.; a story can also be a report in a newspaper, magazine or news broadcast. A story is the countless complexity of words, images, and feelings, recollected to show us the forgotten parts of ourselves. The connection is invisible, yet, vital. The connection is about hope. The connection is about love. The connection contains empathy.
