1. When you are in “the third act” — the last three decades of life, will you be afraid of dying?

2. How to have a successful and satisfying life in the third act? How do you make the best of this period of time?

3. Is becoming old a really good thing? Do you want to live longer or have eternal life? "Aging is a staircase -- the upward ascension of the human spirit, bringing us into wisdom, wholeness and authenticity." Do you agree with it? If yes, how do you approach it?

Dear Taichung Happiers,

Who owns those interior indirectness and directness wins the narratives.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tP214lJtKlM

Everyone is a learner of the Life Language; age is--the punctuation. We have imagined our Life Language magically improved and our few words of uneasy Life Language transformed into fluency. Nevertheless, as life itself is too complicated for us to comprehend, before we can speak any little Life Language, all we have to do, all we can do, is listen, listen, and listen. When we listen, the Life Language is like door opening, one after another. Classical Greek philosopher Socrates (470 – 399 BC) admonished people that “The unexamined life is not worth living.” Then, what is a good life and what is it for? According to Greek philosopher Aristotle (384 – 322 BC), “Man is a goal seeking animal. His life only has meaning if he is reaching out and striving for his goals.” German philosopher Immanuel Kant (22 April 1724 – 12 February 1804) simply stated, “Happiness, though an indefinite concept, is the goal of all rational beings.” Well, life lessons are the most important to us, yet, we don’t have an official manual about them. Why? Oh, is there any magic power that can make us slip into the secret world through a cupboard? This idea sounds naive and brings a bitter smile to our lips. However, we can also be seized by a sudden feeling of pleasure when we think of our Happy Community. Especially, we will learn more from our first-time host Nelson Lin, who has been the President of three branch clubs of ToastMaster. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to join us in squeezing every drop of our thoughts and experiences to share more.

Learn the Life Language of understanding. “You take away the looks, money, intelligence, charm and success and, really, there's no real difference between me and George Clooney.” Understand who we are. Understand our strength and value. Understand what can make us proud of ourselves while looking back in the future. Have you ever seen people reciting Robert Frost’s The Road Not Taken? Do you wonder that the metaphor is not in the poem--it’s in people’s curious eyes and beautiful minds? The understanding of who we are translates our positive emotions into optimism and motivates us to complete every mission in the most heartfelt and modest way. While pursuing it, knowledge will fade into insignificance, sanity will fade into insignificance. Apple CEO Tim Cook spurs us to be builders and to light the windows: to find the hope in the unexpected; find the courage in the challenge; find our vision on the solitary road.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2C2VJwGBRRw Understand that we have to understand who we are in order to perform for what we are becoming. We will miss out on so many wonderful things if we only stuck with what we knew. Therefore, we should take a few seconds to savor this, “Bring the best of your authentic self to every opportunity.” No worries. I endorse these sources, not because they are from celebrities, not because they are talking about a specific act of life, but because they are calling for our true depth of self-love, which inspires our core value and beliefs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EirlZ7fy3bE Understand we need purpose, persistence, and confidence to believe in ourselves. Purpose is a guiding compass, and we all have experienced an unexpected feeling of resilience. What makes us strong is something incomprehensible yet hopeful in our calm eyes that gives us confidence and silences our interior criticism to mute exterior criticism. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mr8_bafjW_M

“The Waiting Game” (by Jeremy Lin)

Learn the Life Language of accepting. “When I told the doctor about my loss of memory, he made me pay in advance.” Accept the risks and the frustration—in terms of all the decisions we have made and the choices that have turned us into who we are today. Listening to the Life Language, we find stories, and we find arguments. What kind of conversations will teach us about how to outrun and outshine, about accepting, and about the wholeness? Reminding us that our goal is not to win every battle, it’s to outlast the competition, Simon Sinek enthusiastically encourages us to be the infinite players to compete with ourselves, to help people to be their natural best, and to learn what leadership requires: empathy and perspectives. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqUx4BJ1ENY In any stage of our life, if we don’t possess money and power, what will we be like?
When we have the passion to stand up for something crazy, we learn it during the journey that the unexpected reality often goes hand in hand with the unwelcome. What holds us back from the life we want? Is it the fear of failure? Or, is it the fear of success? Let’s cultivate an action-oriented mindset to trace our dreams and have a fulfilled life.
https://finland.fi/arts-culture/sisu-within-finnish-key-life-love-success/ Is it people or time that could be distorted under the weight of unexpected reality? Even when we feel our determination and courage evaporating, the Life Language is in our hearts. Harvard Business School professor Clayton Christensen cautiously addressed that “It’s easier to hold to your principles 100% of the time than it is to hold to them 98% of the time.” So, accept more and commit more. The light is just the same, the darkness is just the same, yet, now, there is the truth. A small miracle. Commitment is the mother of miracle.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPkr9HmglG0

Learn the Life Language of appreciation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79DijItQXMM Appreciate the everyday ordinariness and details that we enjoy. The Language of appreciation is about the spaces between love and passion. It is about what happens when we listen to the thing inside us. Plant the seeds of Gratitude. Take a deep breath—slowly--you’ll see how you notice it. https://www.forbes.com/sites/nomanazish/2017/11/22/five-little-things-grateful-people-do-differently/#3cbce582717d Perhaps, we’ve mistaken. Perhaps, there are no coincidences in life. Perhaps, after all, that ordinariness is as good as any other big pictures we’ll see. Life is about the commonplace of details; the details pronounce something about you. That is bigger than words. That is melodious. When the echo of your positive emotions travels through, integrity and gratitude reply with a satisfying smile. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yA5Qpt1JRE4 With gratitude, we have the evidence that we can become comfortable with uncertainty. One minute the future appears faint and remote, and with a tick of the clock, it has become beautiful and hopeful. It takes only one thing. Dr. Christiane Northrup remarkably reassured us that “Feeling grateful or appreciative of someone or something in your life actually attracts more of the things that you appreciate and value into your life.” Above all, destiny is always around the corner. Destiny will grant us a second chance. Destiny is the most intelligent interpreter of our character and gratitude. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VML4VmSlCc

Everyone arabesques in the Life Language; your accent is about something very special. The centerpiece of our life is not to attract attention, because if you listen to the Life Language, the world changes. We don’t know what will happen next. The more we listen, the more we understand. Even in some occasions, we remain silent, unable to believe the sight unfolding before our eyes, the rhythm and harmony of the Life Language still keep living inside us. Value. Just because we can’t see it doesn’t mean that we can’t have it. Strength. What we have is a new path, a new world to walk in. Every day is a performance in one way or another. Whatever we do, make it a tangible connection. Whatever happens, make it more than a coincidence. “Nothing can dim the light which shines from within.” Despite our differences, every unique accent lifts us up and lowers us down, only to raise us even higher. We weave our way through the connectedness. That is why we’ll become braver and braver--friendship is the river we return to again, and again, and, again--in our highs and in our lows. Whatever your dream life is, it takes your Life Language. It takes your unique accent to create the moments to treasure in a life of treasures. It takes our connectedness to a Whole New World. Join us. Thanks!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLaskxHP4bI
