The main message of this book is:
One of the best ways to make yourself happy is to make other people happy. One of the best ways to make other people happy is to be happy yourself.
The days are long, but the years are short.
Happiness is different for everybody. And we’re all capable of boosting our happiness if we recognize what makes us happy and take concrete steps to make those things happen.
The questions for us:
1. What makes you happy? Learning English(cause we are Happy English Club ) , ? There are the traditional Chinese four happiest things in life, the moment of raining while long droughts, bump into an old friend in a distant place, the night of your wedding party, and passed the examination. What do you think about that? And what’s your happiness?
2. In this summary of The Happiness Project by Rubin, she saw a particularly high potential for boosting happiness in the following areas of life:
•Social relationships (partners, children, friends),
•Structuring time (work, play, hobbies),
•Basic attitude
•Money and vitality
Which one do you think is the most important for you, or do you have another thought of boosting happiness?
3. A simple and effective way to get your life under control and happy -the “one-minute rule”. I must do any task that can be finished in one minute. Hang up my coat, read a letter and toss it, fill in a form, answer an email, put the magazines away…and so on.
Do you think it a good way? Do you want to follow this rule?
And Rubin said The days are long, but the years are short. What’s your opinions about this?
4. Money certainly cannot buy happiness, but it can buy comfort, choices, and freedom. The relationship between money and happiness is one of the most complex and emotionally charged topics within the larger subject of happiness. Do you agree with that money can buy some happiness?
