I just came back from a hot spring. It was so horrible.
The weather broadcast said that it would be cold tonight, and it was Thursday. So we decided to go to a hot spring tonight because there should be less people on weekday night. We didn’t really know a good place to go, so just picked one which was close and recommended. 川湯 was our final decision and there we went. The first impression was quite great. There were not too many people outside and there were not too many cars, either. They implied that there shouldn’t be too many people in the hot spring. So we paid to get in.
I hardly believed my eyes when I cast my first sight into the hot spring. THERE WERE ONLY ONE POOL AND ABOUT 60 PEOPLE SAT AROUND THE BORDER OF THE POOL!!!! Barely I could find a place for myself. The news channel broadcast everyday that the economy was sapping. Then who were those people who paid 200 to enjoy the hot spring and seemed that they didn’t have to work on Friday.
The hot spring water was always turbid, but seeing so many people taking a bath there made me feel it was kind of dirty. Since I had been there, I still took off my clothes and dipped myself into the turbidity. Many people had tattoos on their bodies. The swimming pool was like a drug dealer’s den except everyone was naked.
Still hot springs were really refreshing. After about 1 hour, I was much less nervous and almost lapsed into sleep in the pool. But it was time for us to leave too. All of a sudden I wanted to stay for a few minutes.
