When a person talks, some psychotic patients suspect that he is speaking ill of them; when shakes his head, looking down upon them. When they watch the news anchor wink, they think the anchor loves them. When they read an article, they think the article talks about them. Everything is about them. As for the persecutory type, patients think everyone treated him malevolently. What if a patient read an article about a murder, then he started to think everyone tries to murder him. His symptom belongs to the reference or persecutory type. I would put it in the category of the reference type. To my understanding, the reference type has a sign.

In Grey’s anatomy, there is a colored man cutting of his leg because he thinks the leg doesn’t belong to him and it was attached to him by aliens. The thought is a false belief and can’t be explained by the present science. So I suppose it is a paranoid type and need a confirmation.

Why can you remember this patient in Grey's Anatomy?

And maybe he is belong to "somatic type".

I remember more than the affairs fortunately. :P

Yeah...I thought it was somatic, but in my note, I had a question mark in the end. Probably the patient read an article about UFO before so he thought the leg was not his. Then it is a reference type. Or if he thought the alien attached the leg to him as a malevolent treatment. then it should be a persecutory type.

How do you think?? :)
