Amazing!! I am surfing on Internet @ Korea...

文章Alex » 週日 12月 21, 2008 1:30 am

It is really an amazing night!!

I leave Taiwan at 18:30 and take the "Korean Airline" to Seoul.
I arrive Korea at 21:30 (Taiwan Time)and it is -1 degree outside.

The flying experience is very good and exciting...XD
The attendents of Korean Airline are cute and lovely!!
They always smile, so I smile... :P
But I can not understand Korean and I think there is only one Taiwanese in the airplane. XD
So sometimes I am confused what they want to say to me.
The food in Korean Airline is spicy.
No wonder that people always say Korean food is spicy.

After landing on Korea, I walk around the Seoul airport and try to find a place to sleep. ( I didn't book any hotel in Korea...XD )
Fortunately I find a good place to have a rest.
But I can not sleep.
So I decide to explore this airport.

I take pictures of many interesting things in this airport, including giant X'mas tree and some funny little cute things.
After walking around for a while, I notice that there are some people using computers!!
And I inquire them and realize that it's free to use the computer and surf on Internet!!
This is the reason why I can type this article right now. :)

How lucky I am!
I have to stay in Korea for more than 8 hours then there will be an airplane to France and Internet is perfect for me to kill time. :D

Also, I am listening to Youtube right now.
The link below I attach is the song I am listening to.

Share with you!
It is very beautiful and cohered with my feeling right now.

Now, I need to find another place to sleep... XD
Good night, Taiwan! Good night, everyone!
Hope the trip to France will be fine. :)
Don't try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.

Hey, Alex,
You forgot to mention what the trip was for? Did you go alone for business, join a package tour or just travel yourself? It is so unclear! Tell us more details. I can feel that you were just as happy as a clam ‘cause most people I know are not that fond of Korea. Ha Ha!

Well, obviously you are just transferred in Korea. My sister is actually going to Korea from the States during Christmas holidays to see her boyfriend and his parents for the first time. I believe she’s gonna have a hard time. I was so shocked that her boyfriend’s family asked her to buy a gift for each family member and they all specified what they wanted, like the brand and specs. I doubled confirmed with my sister ‘cause it should never happen in Taiwan. “Exactly,” my sister said, “they never hesitate to tell you what gifts they want.” She spent almost US$2,000 on all the gifts. Oh my God, that’s huge. Is it cultural difference? Somebody, tell me.

I’m thinking about a trip to Singapore. I met a girl last month who lived in Singapore for 7 years. She told me about the zoo in Singapore that sounded very attractive. My friend, who joined a package tour twice ALONE, told me that the other members considered her weird at the beginning ‘cause she was the only one joining the package tour ALONE. She said that if one wants to join a package tour alone, they must put up with that kind of look from the other tourists at the beginning until they realize you are NOT abnormal.

By the way, I always have some words to say about “smiling.” I can feel the way Alex felt when people smile at you. I smile in my workplace at whoever walks up to me. We may not know each other ‘cause there are 300 people in our compound. We don’t think this is kind of a flirtation. What if I’m in a coffee shop, it is so difficult for me to smile at a stranger. I was on a bus once on my way home and a Caucasian blonde woman at 30’s smiled at me when I was looking around. I felt so embarrassed and tried to avoid her look. I felt so regretful after that. We are just too shy to smile at a stranger. If it’s a guy, will he consider the smile a flirtation? If so, should we still smile at someone who looks at us? Who has any ground rules about this?

I think the zoo that you're talking about in Singapore is called "Nighttime Safari", I was there in 2007 and believe me it was awesome.

Go there, enjoy the Singlish and the warm Singaporean atmosphere, oh, and don't forget, if you do go you HAVE to visit Sentosa Island and make sure to check out the famous Merlion(Mermaid+Lion)!!!!

The responsive message from Carmen reminds me of once upon a trip. About ten years ago, I joined a packet tour alone just like the girl Carmen met and the place I went was Korea too, but not because of sightseeing or a business trip. The only reason I went there was to go away from Taipei so as to make a correct decision to the next step of my life. After meeting with the tour guide, I stayed in the members of the touristry having nothing to do. After a while, I noticed a man as well as a little girl, who were saying goodbye to a woman. As their intimate movement, they were a family for sure, I thought. The journey was beginning soon. On the first day I only saw the father and his daughter, who walked together, dined together and slept at the same room, but on the second day a woman joined them until the whole journey was ended up. Of course I didn’t ask them what kind relationship they were, but I was really impressed at that time and that more or less helped me to think things through a different way. Life always gives us surprise no matter which road you step out.

What a complicated adult world. Sometimes I wonder if it's what marriage is all about. Forget it!
I've heard of different stories or purposes from people who join the package tour alone. Maybe I'll give it a shot too. It seems to be something mixed with boredom and excitement.
