2100 Organized by the Taipei Indian Music & Culture Organization (IMO) and supported by India-Taipei Association, the annual India festival in Taipei will unveil the magical wonders of India starting from Sept. 19 at the Dream community in Taipei County. This year’s theme is the Indian epic “Ramayana”, which depicts Lord Rama rescuing his beloved wife from the demon-king Ravana. This classical saga of struggle between good and evil is the most important epic in Hinduism and a popular theme not only in Indian festivals but even the daily life in India. Ramayana has had a profound influence on developments in many areas outside India including the countries in South Asia, China etc.

The centre-piece of this year's India Festival would be the “Ramayana Fantasy Performance” performed by the artists especially invited from India along side many Taiwanese artists on September 20th at the Minsheng Hall. In addition, the India Festival would also include a splendid Bollywood party, a gala opening parade, a sumptuous food bazaar, an Indian mask exhibition as well as performances by all the well-known local Indian dance groups in Taiwan. For more information on the events and tickets, please see the brochure.
