good luck or bad luck?

Everyone said "Good Luck to you" before I eft as if luck could make everything go smoothly.
But there are times when luck doesn't work at all.
This morning, I did my laundry, including those dirty clothes and my backpack.
I took out everything in my backpack except for one thing: MY BRAD NEW ELECTRICAL DICTIONARY!
When I found out, it was too late, totally unworkable.
I left it in the backpack coz I thought, at that time, that I would put it with other valuable things later.
Just that very thought distroyed my electrical dictionary!
Before I put everything in the washing machine, I felt something in the bag.
But I checked the outside pocket, ignoring the inside where my electrical dictionary lay.
So you see, there were chances that I could have reverse the situation.
But I didn't.
I was upset and annoyed about myself. I thought it was really an unlucky day for me.
But, to be honset, it's not a matter of luck. It's about carefulness.
Should I have double checked my backpack before washing it, my electrical dictionary
wouldn't have suffered.
Who can I blame for this? It's my fault, nothing to do with luck.
Everyone wishes me good luck.
Now I wish myself greater carefulness.
--------------------------
I still feel sad about my electrical dictionary...
but nothing can help. No use crying...
