good stuff Hans, i think it is a great compilation

your conclusion is very true:

A good command of English isn’t earned “suddenly”. Many people misinterpret the fact that a new language can be learned in a matter of days, this might be possible through certain claimed theories but according to my own understanding it’s not possible at all.

I wish everybody would try to study English through the finding of a “personal interest” or a hobby. Find something you like or have a pleasure in doing through English, read more English books, etc.

Read!!!!!! As much as you can. Magazines, novels, journals and newspapers are very good sources of English learning. Dictionaries are a must as well, Do not ONLY check the Chinese definition, the English definition is equally important.

Hey, I want to donate some stupid questions for your book.

1.How to say "你昨天回家晚了。"?
Can we say "You came home late last night"?
Or it should be "You were home late last night"?

2. "You don't belong to here." or "You don't belong here."

3. How to say "色狼" and "默契" in English?
Can they be "molester" and "rapport"? Do you have better words?

We just discussed these things at school, and some of the ETs think these are not easy for us.

Hi Hans,

Your ppt is awesome. It's my lose not to attend yesterday's speech because I have business trip this week.
Did anybody help to record it and can help to upload to Youtube?

By the way, let me try to answer Rock's questions below and looking forward the correction.

Brady: I think should be the 1st one.

2. "You don't belong to here." or "You don't belong here."
Brady: For me, it's a strange sentence and a little like Chinese-English oral speaking. In grammer, it should be belongme.

3. How to say "色狼" and "默契" in English?
Can they be "molester" and "rapport"? Do you have better words?
I guess "pervert" should be ok for "色狼".
For "默契", I have no idea how to traslate to single vacabulary. Maybe ""tacit understanding" or "unspoken agreement" can be suitable for some cases.

1. Both are okay

2. 'You don't belong here' is the right one

3. 色狼 = pervert or sex offender
默契 = to have good team chemistry

'tacit' is a word usually used in more formal writing or speech. in casual everyday usage, 'team chemistry' is fine, I think

Adi what about uploading the MP3 file onto a server like Badongo.com or something and then placing the link here so that everyone can download it?
Just a suggestion and it should work.
