We, the audience and judges, were more nervous than these two speakers, because there was not a single soul joining the judge team who didn’t find both the speeches having profound implications for Happiers. Our President Kevin played a perfect role of the moderator again, so, what followed is all attendees finished the tough mission to vote. Lisa will be Taichung Branch’s representative for the National Speech Contest. For Taichung Happiers, it is equally important to learn from Harris’ modest and temperate manners.
“Which best-selling book would you refer to ‘will power’” Harris asked; surely enough, his reaction with the audience was successfully created. The first speaker of our In-House Speech Contest, Harris, delivered the benefit to us by addressing “Self Control of Will Power”. Illustrating his own experience of swimming across Sun Moon Lake, he confirmed the truth that will power can be trained. It would have been better, if his acting movements had been bigger (to be visible to distant audience); nevertheless, his long-term self training is so praiseworthy.
Beginning her speech with a flawless performance and her hand-made tools, Lisa, fully attracting our attention, is more than a pretty magician. Moreover, she encouraged us that “good compliment” (her topic) is an advantage for both the giver and the taker. The best is always saved for the last: she was not only saying, but also doing—her powerful ending was to ask the audience’s action to give her “good compliment”. After the contest, she claimed about the missing sentences of her story, yet, what astonished us a lot is her smooth flow to cover that.
Thanks a lot, Lisa and Harris. Thanks a lot to all attendees. Your passionate participation leads us to love this Club, our big family, deeper and deeper. Have a summer breeze, and, enjoy this song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nW17oECl7fo
