Dear all
Why I chose this article is because I know some happiers like to go traveling, neet to go for business trip, and so on. That is why we are here to improve our English, right? So, it's very important for us to know more about other countries's background. It's related to our today's topic, Dealing with culture shock.
Through today's article, we really learn a lot. Betty said, if we wanna go out with Japanese people, it's very important to be on time or a bit early, cause they think it's a very basic manner. Also, if you want to go south Korea, you better bring at least a friend to go with. Because it's hard to find a restaurant, they don't offer meal for single. The basic meal are all for two person at least. June said, people who live in Australia or immigrant to there have to vote for any election, otherwise one will be fined around NT 2000. Jasmine said, it's normal to see two guys hand by hand walking on the street in Turkey. They are just friends, not gay and they won't bring their wife to attend any activity or visit their friend's place. As you can see, women's social status in Turkey is very low. Kevin think Hong Kong people are not so friendly comparing with Taiwanese for asking a direction, no one would like to help him. Terrence shared that when he was shopping name brand in New York, the clerks just stared at him and kinda like he was scanned by them. They were looking down to him. It made him feel so uncomfortable.
Actually everyone shared many different experiences to us. Some I didn't mention yet, but I do think it's very helpful for us to avoid making some taboo or mistakes when we experience to a new culture.
The best wish
Harris
