The topic on 17 May was about film, and the article source is from the review of Wreck-it Ralph. This is an animation and released in the end of last year. We talked about our opinions of this film, and shared some of our favorite films, actress/actors or celebrities in group. And then we moved to a discussion of more abstract issues, such as if fame changes people and whether the governments should support local films/TV.
After the discussion, as most people haven't watched Wreck-it Ralph, they introduced other films instead like Warrior, The Life of Pi and Gost. Genre-wise, comedy, sic-fi and adventure, especially with the inspiring story are the three most popular types. Following that is about the effect of fame, most people reckoned if people become famous, their behavior will inevitably change. On the one hand, some celebrities probably become arrogant and smug, but on the other hand some celebrities are modest about their achievements and make contribution to society. Then it's last question, people agree if the government don't support local film industry, Taiwanese movies or TV programs may shrink dramatically.
Although only few people have seen this film, this discussion aroused considerable interest in it. At the same time, participants get more ideas about different kind of film reviews and are given a wider perspective on film industry.
Btw, we have two new members this week, who are Vincent and Robert respectively. It's far too happy, isn't it!!
