Dear Taichung Happiers,

How have your trips transformed you? Being regarded as the greatest man of letters in English history, Samuel Johnson reflected “
The use of traveling is to regulate imagination by reality, and instead of thinking how things may be, to see them as they are.” (Anecdotes of Samuel Johnson, 1786) Now, let’s see how Mr. 詹宏志 has perfectly interpreted this and how he encourages travelers.

What’s on the must-see list for your trips, natural wonders or culture treasures? No matter how far the airplane takes us away from our mother land, our trips always carry us to examine the inside of ourselves. French writer Marcel Proust, who is best known for the novel In Search of Lost Time, has the expectation: “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” So, what are our new eyes for? The following article "人文的意義" did attract my attention, and wish it can have the value for Happiers as well. http://www.libertytimes.com.tw/2013/new/aug/14/today-article4.htm#

When/where did you start/end your trip? Flying back to Taiwan doesn’t mean you have finished this journey. There must be something (a sound, a sight, a respectable attitude, or an admirable expectation) which can inspire you further—to fall deeper in love with every foreign destination you have been to and to fulfill each of your days in Taiwan. Here is a film having spelled this kind of magic to me: the documentary film “La Mansion de la Radio”. http://www.berlinale.de/en/archiv/jahresarchive/2013/02_programm_2013/02_Filmdatenblatt_2013_20137892.php (Please click the “Video Press Conference” button and listen carefully to it. It will be better if you can watch the entire film, not just the press conference.)

Whatever you love, wherever you go, ladies and gentlemen, fly high!
