What are the characteristics of a native speaker talking live??
A. wide fluctuations of intonations caused by moods
B. sometimes fast(running all the words together-linking), sometimes slow.
C. sometimes loud, sometimes murmurous.
D. comparitively easy wording(we still don't follow.)
E. incomlete sentence structure
F. possible slip-ups in grammar(scarcely)
G. .....
Other than standard Englidh teaching materials, we got to try something more exciting and challenging, which is native speakers talk live on a show.
Often times, we find it difficult to understand when native speakers talk in a fast or mururous way, (actuallualy, their normal speed), so we shield ourselves from "the brutal reality of the listening world" and listen to teaching materials only, where you feel most comfortable.
We're getting nowhere if we always stay "as snug as a bug in a rug".
Just as in Mandarin world, we need to listen to English info. from different sources. TV shows are unavoidable.
O.K.! Let's give it our best shot....without reading the script first!
