Topic Discussion Article: Steve Jobs' Outstanding Stanford Commencement Speech from 2005 (文章)
Source: http://onemansblog.com/2010/02/01/steve ... from-2005/

Questions for Discussion:

Session 1

1. What’s your major during your university years? Did you choose the subject by following your interests, the market trends or simply just followed your parents’ suggestions? From Steve Jobs' speech, can you find out why Steve dropped out of college? What class did he say was the most useful for him?

2. Were you happy with what you were studying? If yes, is your current job related with the subject of your studies? If not, how did you deal with the feeling at that time? What would you study if you had a chance to go back to study again,?

3. During your free time, have you found any interests or hobbies which have become an important part of your life?

Session 2

4. Tell us about your job. Do you love what you do? If yes, share with us why you feel this way about your job. If not, what kinds of jobs are you looking in the future?

5. Do you agree people can combine their interests with their careers? Will you encourage your friends or your children to do what they love to do without thinking about the practical implications?

6. Steve Jobs said in this speech to Stanford graduates, "If today were the last day of your life, would you want to do what you are about to do today?" Do you think this is a good question to ask yourself before deciding important decisions? Have you ever been close to death before due to illness, accidents or other problems? How did your life change afterwards?
