Topic Discussion Article: In Defense of Chivalry (文章)

Questions for Discussion:

Session 1:
1. What are some of the interesting chivalrous manners you know? It can be either from western or eastern culture. (holding doors open, pulling chairs out…)
2. For Men: What are some of the chivalrous manner you do regularly?
For women: what are some of the chivalrous manner you received from men recently?
3. As a men or a women, what sort of chivalrous manner do you like or dislike?

Session 2:
1. What do you think about a man holding a purse for his girlfriend or wife? Is it a good thing or is it embarrassing?
2. Do you think Chivalry and feminism are incompatible?
3. People are saying “Chivalry is dead.” Do you agree or disagree?

I’m old generation girl. I thought about Chivalry that the male have to paid the bill for the lady. That is absolutely correct. I had been seen about a girl who is not beauty and her boyfriend gave her a big bundle of Rose flowers. Her boyfriend drove a nice car and opened the car door for her with gentlemen style. I envied to that girl.
When I graduated Form College, I started to seek a job for factory Style Company.
I guess…. I have to say I guess….
I guess the supervisor told me, my salary will different with specific gender. I guess Any new employee enter to our company that his salary will high than her salary about 5 thousand NT dollars cause of he had responsible to feed a family. I tried to find many other’s jobs but I guess the result is the same. Maybe I had feminism idea in my mind. If He can do the heavy job than She can do it, too.
A guy dated with me and he always paid the bill. I insisted to pay once but he thought it’s no necessary. I did not impressed about he paid the bill. Because it is not his money that is welfare form his company.

If you are Chivalry men…it’s mean you are more charming for the girls no matter you will pay the bill or not.

There are Chivalry men as Happy、Ian、Dustin、Dimitri、Joe、Paul、Willie、Sam、Stanley、Banjamin、Brain、Austin、Yen、Luke、Feri、Frank、Bill、Brady……etc in our happy club.

Paul said He is pleasure to holding a purse for his girlfriend because he can take her money more easily.

A important point that you will not want to let me to do the holding doors open.
I had been clipped someone’s hand or hit someone’s head when I do the Chivalry action for holding doors open.
