Dear Taichung Happiers,

Question: What are the three fastest ways of communication?
Answer: 1. Tele-phone 2. Tele-vision 3. Tell-a-woman.
(You still want faster? 4. Tell her not to tell anyone.)

Sir Arthur Charles Clarke (16 December 1917 – 19 March 2008), a science writer, futurist and inventor, spelled out why we need technology. “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” So, what technology do you use every day? Either you scan them or not, QR Codes must have been beckoning you everywhere. How can QR Codes appear so attractive? Welcome to discover the answers with our host Joey.

The Social Media & the Brand professor Thom Kennon prefers students with humanities background to join his graduate marketing degree program. Why? Check out his definition of real marketing. “Real marketing seeks to attach to existing or even latent behavior of our customers by humbly offering up and inserting perfectly placed instants of value, maybe even magic, into the human mix of natural and multiplying mobile behaviors.” And, that also accurately depicts the beauty of QR Codes.

How are these QR Codes used? Do you prefer to see their applications in healthcare, business, education, or travel? In the classroom, QR Codes can improve efficiency and increase incentives.
http://www.edutopia.org/blog/QR-codes-teaching-andrew-miller Besides, in medical field, Mary Pat Whaley, the practice administrator for Halifax Regional Medical Center, forecasted the adoption of QR Code in healthcare. http://managemypractice.com/22-ways-you-will-use-qr-quick-response-codes-in-healthcare-in-the-future-if-youre-smart/

Seeing the first widespread utilization of computers, experts predicted that computers would guide us to a paperless society. Now, we are grateful to see another significance of QR Codes--reducing reprints of advertising material. Yes, shape the values and set a shining example.
All Watched Over By Machines Of Loving Grace
By Richard Brautigan

I like to think (and
the sooner the better!)
of a cybernetic meadow
where mammals and computers
live together in mutually
programming harmony
like pure water
touching clear sky.

I like to think
(right now, please!)
of a cybernetic forest
filled with pines and electronics
where deer stroll peacefully
past computers
as if they were flowers
with spinning blossoms.

I like to think
(it has to be!)
of a cybernetic ecology
where we are free of our labors
and joined back to nature,
returned to our mammal
brothers and sisters,
and all watched over
by machines of loving grace.

What developments in technology would you like to see? What practice for QR Code is your burning desire? How about the combination of Sushi and QR Code? After QR codes, what will be the next?

For our X’mas gift exchange party, perhaps someone can record a personalized message to surprise the recipient while he/she scanning the QR Code! Finally, time for “QR Code lyrics”:
……………..Your stare is holding……………Where you think you’re going, baby? Hey I just met you, and this is crazy. But here is the QR Code, so scan it, maybe? It’s hard to look right, at you baby. But here is the QR Code, so scan it, maybe?
