Why do people make New Year's resolutions?
Source: http://people.howstuffworks.com/culture-traditions/holidays-other/why-make-new-years-resolutions.htm Please Note:
Venue:台中市南屯區大業路182號 Mos Burger
Thanks a lot for your attention. Questions: 1. What are your New Year’s resolutions for 2015? Please share at least two objectives with us. Why do you make these goals? Do you make those goals to follow your passion or just to meet the expectations of others?
2. Do you write them down, remind yourself and make a plan to fulfill your New Year’s resolutions? On the contrary, are you afraid that your aims are too high or too vague to be realistic enough? Do you regularly review your progress? How do you make it up if you fall behind your schedule?
3. Your goals should be a little difficult but not impossible to reach. Do you agree this statement? There is a rule called SMART, which is acronym for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-related. Do you follow the rule like that to setup your New Year’s resolutions? Or how do you help your spouse, siblings, children, and staff to have a practical objective?
4. Are you a person with a strong will power to make your goals come true? How long will you keep sticking to it? How can you get motivated to fulfill your goals? And how do you reward yourself when you complete your targets?

Dear Taichung Happiers,
Throw your phone in the ocean.
Why? Well, it’s the first recommendation of American author Austin Kleon ‘s “How To Read More.” Why? Well, reading more has been on countless people’s 2015 New Year’s resolution list, including the Facebook cofounder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Happy New Year! We wholeheartedly welcome everyone to join our first show of 2015--hosted by Kevin--Why do people make New Year’s resolutions?
Around the annual fresh start, our attention has been directed to the great ritual—making a list of resolutions—to continuously improve ourselves. Anna Eleanor Roosevelt (October 11, 1884 – November 7, 1962), the longest-serving First Lady of the United States, had the most beautiful small words with magical power: “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” And it can be the big answer to what Kevin inquires.
Another fresh new year is here
By William Arthur Ward (1921–March 30, 1994)
“Another fresh new year is here . . .
Another year to live!
To banish worry, doubt, and fear,
To love and laugh and give!
This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest . . .
To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best!
I have the opportunity
Once more to right some wrongs,
To pray for peace, to plant a tree,
And sing more joyful songs!”
To change or not to change? The Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Ellen Goodman instructed us what to focus on. “We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives... not looking for flaws, but for potential.” And American educator Shawn Achor has been sharing out his research results proving “Change is possible at any point of your life.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fa2WX4RzWj4 If reading more is also on your list, your heart could beat as fast as mine, while you encounter this seduction. http://www.messynessychic.com/2013/08/28/10-inspiring-bookshops-around-the-world/ All right. Stay calm now. Is giving on anyone’s list? Awesome, here is a gift for you. http://www.ted.com/talks/bill_and_melinda_gates_why_giving_away_our_wealth_has_been_the_most_satisfying_thing_we_ve_doneHow long will you love your change? Whatever your resolution is, love all of it. Give it all of you, and it will give you all of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dt2KTlxj6-gBest Wishes,
