Dear Taichung Happiers,

“花若盛開,蝴蝶自來
人若精彩,天自安排”

No Chinese, please. Yes, sir. Not that we mean to break the rule, but that nothing can portray our work ideals more pleasantly than this quote. So, what is your definition of work ethic? Join us in exploring more details in the unwritten rules of the office, which our host Vicki shows an interest in. As always, we are thankful for the great time Happiers’ eyes shone with sheer bliss together—it means a lot to all of us.

YESEES AND NOEES
By Shel Silverstein

“The Yesees said yes to anything
That anyone suggested.
The Noees said no to everything
Unless it was proven and tested.
So the Yesees all died of much too much
And the Noees all died of fright,
But somehow I think the Thinkforyourselfees
All came out all right.”

Taichung Happiers’ best friend Albert Einstein laid down three rules of work: “1. Out of clutter, find simplicity. 2. From discord, find harmony. 3. In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity." However, to doubt is human. Now, you might be asking: how to follow these rules and also preserve our happiness at work? My answer is “Have a sense of humor”. Here is the proof.

For all of the Thinkforyourselfees, American author Judah Smith has inserted the instruction: “Make rules and follow rules as needed, but don't focus on rules. Focus on faith.” Personally, I have great faith in integrity. People of integrity, like Chris in the film American Sniper https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bP1f_1o-zo and Bruce in the story Thank You For Inspiring Us https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeX1H7ajOvQ can create a work culture valuing humanity.

Why did you take your job? What is more fundamental than rules? Innovation can be. Canadian journalist Malcolm Gladwell guaranteed us in his book Outliers: The Story of Success “...If you work hard enough and assert yourself, and use your mind and imagination, you can shape the world to your desires.” Use your imagination to master the art of innovation and achieve long-lasting success.

Bonus quote from Mark W. Boyer: “Allow the beauty of all that we love be reflected in who we are and in our actions.” Awesome! Do what you love and let this love be forever more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_m1q0cRJag0
