Questions:
1. Have you ever been to Costco? If yes, please tell us more about your shopping experience in Costco. Without advertising campaigns and with an annual-fee policy, Costco in Zhonghe, Neihu and Taichung have been ranked into the world’s top 10 out of 671 branch stores performance. What makes it? Why are Taiwanese people crazy about Costco?

2. What are your must-buy products in Costco? Why do you want those products? The founder of Costco believed “More and bigger is better” and made products offered in bulk quantities. Do you agree or disagree with the statement like that?

3. There are 4,000 plus products in Costco and each category offers only one or two options while 100,000 plus products and 5 plus choices of each item at an average wholesale store. As a customer, do you prefer selected products with only one choice or single product with multiple choices? Does having too many choices make it harder to decide what to buy?

4. About 20% of Costco’s products generate 80% of Costco’s revenues. Have you noticed the placement of hot items on shelves has been re-arranged regularly to surprise customers? And they hold a variety of tryouts with large quantities. Do you buy the products due to these measures? Or do you have any impulse buying experiences while shopping at Costco or any other stores? What promotional strategies can intrigue you most effectively?
