Dear Taichung Happiers,

Q: What do footballers and magicians have in common?
A: Both do hat tricks!
(Oh, hold on, please. Who performs the best hat trick?

“Passion is the genesis of genius.” (from Italian physicist Galileo Galilei) Our host Howard possesses a true passion for selflessly serving our Club--just completing his advanced training program in the States, he has his head buried in the hosting preparation. Howard also has the passion for an infinitely joyful motivator--sport. So, dear friends, please join us in giving Howard a big shout-out for his passion and seeing “10 Benefits of Playing Sports”.

Nightplayer (by Liam)

My dad loves football
He even plays it in his dreams.
Mum doesn't mind,
But when the whistle blows she screams.

Sports motivate innovation. Sport is extremely empowering, yet it doesn’t make us blasé about excellence. Starting the Danish Innovation Centre in Silicon Valley, Marianne Toftegaard Poulsen actively endorses the innovation and entrepreneurship lessons we can learn from sports: Have a very clear vision; pursue the vision, not the plan; understand the power of iteration and constant constructive feedback; introduce mental training.

Sports motivate confidence. Sport is very enjoyable, and at the same time could be very depressing. However, the history-making tennis pro Venus Williams is a testament to the inner strength that makes athletes shine. “Some people say I have attitude – maybe I do…but I think you have to. You have to believe in yourself when no one else does – that makes you a winner right there. ” What happened after her 45 career titles further inspires us --the incurable disease http://edition.cnn.com/videos/bestoftv/2014/03/25/spc-open-court-venus-williams.cnn cannot destroy her confidence--she shines even brighter afterwards.

Sports motivate integrity and humanity. We don’t know we don’t know until we know who we are and what to do. Sport is the best agent. Arthur Ashe (July 10, 1943 – February 6, 1993), one of the best tennis players from the United States, shared his enduring insight: “You are never really playing an opponent. You are playing yourself, your own highest standards, and when you reach your limits, that is real joy.” This true story Ballet Boys illuminates how.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9K8ofhmOqk Sport is fiercely competitive; nevertheless, its history is repeating the fact--nothing but compassion and humanity are bigger than the gold medal. Jeremy Lin’s compassionate actions always speak louder. https://www.facebook.com/jlinfoundation/posts/1130502563629819 Moreover, it couldn’t be more pleasant to learn what sports can do for peace and international development. http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/13412812.New_global_think_tank_will_use_sport_to_tackle_humanity_s_worst_problems/

One principle for 9/19 gathering: never lie to Howard, our best detective. Therefore, confess! Confess that sport is your true love! Oops, you need principle 2? Principle 2: you can play football in your dreams, but, no whistle!!! All right, Howard will give you a ride to our Hogwarts for the mystery and magic of sports. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ssHB7aThek Join us, Thanks!
