Questions for Discussions:

1. What kind of jobs will be replaced by robots or digital technologies in the future?

2. What kind of advantages/disadvantages do robots have in performing jobs or tasks?

3. When tasks are not being replaced by robotic performance, what knowledge or skills we need to prepare?

4. In this article, some jobs will disappear, while other jobs will be created, and some existing jobs are more valuable. Do you agree/disagree with this statement? Please give some examples to us.

5. It’s no doubt that technology always comes from human nature. With the improvement of technology and invention, our life will be more convenient. In your opinion, what is the next generation technology or invention in our world?

20151003, Gathering, Tainan Happy English Club


Two newcomers we just met here. Welcome, Jennifer and Mandaa! Mandaa is an international student in NCKU and comes from Mongolia. Jennifer is a Kong-Fu mater and has a lot of experience of traveling around the world. They shared their unique and impressive experiences which were very inspiring for us. We are glad to have you joining us. Also, Grace, Cherry, Adam and Ken (it’s me) were the members attended the gathering today. Thanks for Grace, we did enjoy the game of “answering the questions by members!”

Is it a good idea to make robots and machines to do all the jobs for human beings? Some people agree with this but some disagree. Maybe robots can bring some convenience and save manpower needs. Many bosses might feel great if it can do “cost-down”. But many people might lose their jobs. Also, imagine all the services you can get from restaurants, supermarket, parking lots, and etc. will be provided by machines. There’s nobody you can talk in any situations. That would be awful and terrible. Maybe we need to figure out how we face these issues before the era of AI comes. This afternoon, we discussed a lot for today’s article about Artificial Intelligence and robot technology. Thanks for Adam's host. We really did a deep discussion for this future-life issue!
