Dear Taichung Happiers,

Every self-respecting traveler has an iceberg waiting for him/her.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGRnd8WlcIU

Every destination itself is a metaphor. Thanks to Globalization and the Internet, the distance between us and the rest of the world seems more and more measurable. Travel is like a profession we all need to learn, yet, sometimes, travel is not teachable—the journey itself is the best teacher. Being one of the greatest composers in the history of Western music, Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (27 January 1756 – 5 December 1791) strongly suggested that travel, like a piece of music, can change key many times. The purpose? To inject a strong dose of energy. “A man of ordinary talent will always be ordinary, whether he travels or not; but a man of superior talent will go to pieces if he remains forever in the same place…” We travel to discover all the wonders of the world. What can keep the aroma of your travel memory longer—the part you share on social media or the part you only silently keep in a special space in your heart? Have you ever experienced that kind of journey that didn’t meet your expectation, but ended up with being more rewarding? The adventure and actualization carry us off to other ways of feeling, thinking, and living. In a particular way, travel is all-present in the memories and conversations of our family and friends. We only see in our travel reflection what we ourselves feel inside. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to join our host Micro in digging deeper into all kinds of decent details of travel.

“Travel” (by Edna St. Vincent Millay)

The railroad track is miles away,
And the day is loud with voices speaking,
Yet there isn’t a train goes by all day
But I hear its whistle shrieking.

All night there isn’t a train goes by,
Though the night is still for sleep and dreaming
But I see its cinders red on the sky,
And hear its engine steaming.

My heart is warm with the friends I make,
And better friends I’ll not be knowing,
Yet there isn’t a train I wouldn’t take,
No matter where it’s going.

To travel is to re-travel. We travel for ourselves, and we can re-travel for others. “What is the best thing about living in Switzerland?” “Well, the flag is a big plus.” All right, what is travel but another name of education and experience? Education and experience for culture diversity, actually. Culture is the mind programming of a group of people. Every society is filled with a wide variety of cultures, and every culture has amazing and appropriate charms of their own. American writer Henry Miller (December 26, 1891 – June 7, 1980) tried to raise our awareness that “One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” Despite the rules of the culture game are very different in every corner of the world, there is an enchantment over every destination. Shall we look at everything with both the nostalgia of an experienced traveler and the innocence of a child?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhA9eypocE0 Culture matters. Benefits of cultural immersion while travelling, including confidence boosting, stereotype breaking , and authentic culture experiencing, can open up opportunities—opportunities always beckon hope to come and join us. The immersion of foreign cultures introduces us to other ways of feeling, thinking, and living, as if where our home town is were merely the result of some random chances, as if destiny itself still had the power to make modification. Now, please check out these proper places to practice it. https://www.lonelyplanet.com/articles/best-culture-trips-for-families Culture gives us meaning. If we don’t judge anything with our own standards, if we can be flexible, if we can perceive possibilities and problems of our and others’ cultures…Cultural immersion is what turns fear into festivity. If happiness can be a universal culture, let’s be dissolved into something complete and great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCh8h3Lqs5Q

We breathe a freedom that dazzles every soul. "I went to a place to eat. It said 'breakfast at any time.' So I ordered French Toast during the Renaissance." What smell and taste linger longer in your travel memory? Our culinary travel experiences have a way of talking in exclamation marks, suggesting everything is a spectacular surprise, exciting a wave of emotions, and granting greater freedom of choice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K90X9KfYEk4 Food is a blend of layers and realness, the celebration of everything. Where is your favorite destination for the food reason? It’s exciting, inviting, and intriguing to find all the various cuisines and cultures of the local. Do you dream of the local market and authentic local food experiences and wonder how many traditions they inherit? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrwJDzqUX9o&app=desktop Food is our biggest passion. Only food has that magic technique: when we sway with it, we go weak and we go strong. The mixture of summer evenings, light, water, food, and garden cafes is beyond description. It’s our deep desire to learn the art and intricacy of cuisines, to discover how these magnificent original classics changed, to fully embrace your passion and to explore the fine-dining scene. We breathe in the beautiful colors, and we know, it’s time for the choreography of foods, drinks, music, and laughter to take over the spotlight. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyypvjfB2RI

Lliterary travelers’ curiosity knows no limits.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkR5SkZAjak Literature allows us to sneak into others’ consciousness and to live one thousand lives. Stories help us imagine some possibilities. Reading literature establishes our empathy and makes us better by looking up to others’ potential. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RCFLobfqcw Literary travelers carry out a closer examination of the concept and the reality, and demonstrate that literature always allows readers to co-construct the world with authors. While travelling, we spend days after days making our way through the streets sprinkled with caf’es, bookshops, and museums. Not because each of us has to harbor any literary ambitions, but because literary travelers’ curiosity is the path of discovering who we are and recovering the memory of literature we’ve indulged ourselves in. http://www.slate.com/blogs/atlas_obscura/2015/02/18/livraria_lello_in_porto_portugal.html Feeling literature floating in the air helps us further understand the construction of language, the composition of narrative, and the component of words. There is a sweetness in the air; the smell of a place that has been lived in all day. Either it’s Shakespeare’s Stratford-Upon-Avon or Proust’s Paris, we all have the state in determining which possibilities are most important to us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4IegE_-_4g

We don’t choose the destination—the destination chooses us. The place has been waiting there for us for some time—it knows that on a definite dawn, we’ll disclose it. We smile in gratitude; the journey’s teachings inspire respect and recognition. We only truly fall in love with travelling when we don’t realize it’s happening. If I can say so, it’s because every destination is home. We’ll glow with pride when the fate gives us an indecipherable wink and takes us to the place where our future will be decided. Eventually, travel reassures us that despite no one can know everything, there are moments when we can believe that we will, when mind and spirit are filled to overflowing—we feel like we have finally been reborn. We come to every destination for a reason, and not to escape from ourselves. Landscape is a state of mind. We can change landscape into something we care about--how we make people feel. Yes, it’s always about people. Prize-winning author Wallace Earle Stegner (February 18, 1909 – April 13, 1993) gave us his incredible insight: “There is a sense in which we are all each others’ consequences.” A balm of empathy and compassion gives us enough strength to revive and regain some calmness and peace. We travel for ourselves, and we can re-travel for others. Join us. Thanks!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dOhAnaV4IE
