Sometimes I wonder if anyone has their own dream jobs in their minds and how far they are still away from the dreams. Are dream jobs equal to dream salaries? That’s so difficult to define. My dream job is to be a researcher as it fits my interests as a reading hobbyist. Every now and then I think the dream makes me so obsessed that I need to relax a bit by seeing a movie. Additionally, obsession with the ideal job makes me put everything aside and only focus on the preparation. I wonder if I’m such a female geek as most engineers.
Working in a similar organization gives people with a dream an edge. At least it is not too far away anymore. What’s difficult is how to make the most of all the advantages available and thus move up through the ranks. Priding yourself on wheeling and dealing is never a good idea. Working hard is a must.
