Questions:
1. What kinds of your doings makes you feel uncomfortable? Could you give us an example from your work or life? How do you define your comfort zone?

2. You probably need to take some risks to step out of comfort zone. How do you assess the risks? Under what conditions are you willing to give it a try to get out of comfort zone?

3. Afraid of criticism, losing sense of security, or fear of the unknown: what hinders you from leaving your comfort zone? What kind of barriers, which you encounter when you just leave your comfort zone, will force you to give up?

4. Nothing is better than staying in your comfort zone in your entire life. Why should we need to push ourselves to leave our comfort zone? Do you agree or disagree with the statement like that? Why or why not?

Dear Taichung Happiers,

Did Albert Einstein’s super messy desk create his comfort “zone”? For this weekend, our host Kevin is expecting our definitions of comfort zone. How can we have a more pleasant afternoon than in the company of Happiers, such a group of intelligent friends? Come join us with your attitude.

Fear is not a good friend, yet most of us keep it as a very close friend. Everybody has a creative mind; nevertheless, because of the fear of failure, not all of us would love to leave the comfort zone to fully stretch our imagination and explore the remarkable inner strength. As we introduced it before, Master Chiang Hsun has repeatedly interpreted the Greek legend “Icarus”. We might wonder how to safely fly high. The former CEO and chairman of AOL (America Online) Steve Case suggested: “So you have to force yourself out of a comfort zone and really try to figure out what are the key ingredients, the key skill sets, the key perspectives that are necessary, and then figure out a way to attract the very best people to fill those particular roles.”

Which is ingeniously safe, flying too low or flying too high? In this exciting and encouraging book “The Icarus Deception”, the author Seth Godin gave us choices: “You can risk being wrong or you can be boring” Don’t worry—stepping out of the comfort zone won’t reward us with a feeling of stupidity.
